If you need to enable boxed layout as boxed, please follow the below steps.
Goto Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Layout Section > Enable Boxed Layout
Check the checkbox, automatically enable the boxed layout.
How to upload background image for boxed layout?
Goto Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Layout Section > Background Image
Upload your image, for boxed version or normal version also.
